Moriondo embodies the clash between appearance and personality, when the surface cracks to reveal something more unorganized and sinister inside.

Moriondo was a gift between King Vlinoric and another king whom he encountered at the Crossroads. Initially, Vlinoric was confused that a King would give up his lioness so easily, nevertheless one with one of those odd pelts like his. Vlinoric noted how Moriondo avoided the gaze of her king, who began speaking on about how irritating and unreliable the lioness was, but stared on at Vlinoric with a look of subtle hatred in her eyes. Reluctantly, he agreed to take her in.
Many things became apparent within the first month of her stay. Most of what the previous king said was true: Moriondo was unreliable and rude. Lionesses were displeased with her lack of efforts in hunts. When confronted, the lioness would rage quite often, or hide herself away. Moriondo looked as plain as the oryx the pride occasionally hunted, but her black marks brought out the worst in her behavior, like the frozen surface of a pond moments from shattering. Within the second month, it was apparent that Moriondo had also kept her pregnancy hidden. The lioness claimed that the father was her previous king, but when a submale revealed countering evidence, Moriondo didn't refute it. Angered, King Vlinoric avoided the lioness, promising to right her wrong at her birth.
Moriondo gave birth to a litter of four on a hot night. Despite her best attempts, the Garden was only able to secure the survival of two of the cubs. Vlinoric moved in to eagerly dispatch the remaining cubs, Moriondo's betrayal still fresh in his mind, but was stopped by the scene. A lioness in a moment of vulnerability and sadness, mourning the loss of her two cubs and clutching what remains of her litter: two young, healthy sisters. The den felt cold and hot at the same time, with the blood bringing back memories of countless battles that still felt fresh to Vlinoric.
In the end, they both came to a compromise: Moriondo may keep only one cub. The lioness, with a saddened heart, relinquished her rights to the plainer sister to the Garden, who in turn found a happy home for her.
Vlinoric still feels uneasy around Moriondo, and that feeling stays when observing her daughter, Crevisa. He remarks how both lionesses are the same, but different. That to him, was terrifying.

Thank you, Loni 🌈 (Clean Lilac)!
King Vlinoric grinned at Moriondo and asked if she found out where the wildebeests were moving to, like he asked her to yesterday. Her greeting faltered and she looked guilty. Oh, she forgot. Again.
Moriondo's ears perk slightly, but she does not acknowledge King Vlinoric as he approached, as she is snoozing.
