A character from the trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss called "The Kingkiller Chronicle". The books in the series are "The Name of the Wind"; "A Wise Man's Fear" and "The Doors of Stone" (currently not released). Devi is a recurring character from the "Kingkiller Chronicles" by Patrick Rothfuss. The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear are book 1 & 2 of the series. Book 3 has not yet been finished. Devi was kicked out of the University for the harmful use of sympathy or arcane power against another , though it was not fully proven. She is rumored to have been able to beat the masters of sympathy at a very young age. There are those that support her stating she did no wrong but the University masters feared a woman with such power. Kvothe crosses paths with Devi when he is in need of a loan (several over the course of the series). There are no limit to the size of the loan, but any person unable to pay owes Devi favors, of which she is fully capable of making people hold up to their end of the deal. Devi is amused by Kvothe and impressed by his morals. Over time she is seen as a powerful ally to be trusted even if at arms length.
