Biography
A little tribute to my grandfather, a United States Army veteran. I've always looked up to him, no matter the situation. And nothing stopped him from doing all he could if he needed to, not even his supposed disability. In the early 1970s, he was involved in a motorcycle accident - despite wearing a helmet and following the law, it was him who suffered negative consequences, not the man in the truck. He became deaf from the incident due to head injury, and was provided the option to try implants. He took this offer, and eventually had them removed as nothing sounded normal - everything was robotic. He has managed over 40 years with absolutely no hearing, and this didn't stop him from working in small factories in town, driving, interacting with others in public. He has never once seen being deaf as a disability of any sort, proving it was in fact possible for someone with hearing loss to function as if "nothing" was wrong. He's proven to many that you shouldn't let something hinder your ability to be part of society.
