~Her mother’s bio~
—————————
“You’ll never be a queen, if I have anything to say about it.” Tyra— her own mother— hissed, “What a pathetic excuse for a ruler, you’d be. Perhaps you could be a Shaman if you actually tried, for once. That is, if inhaling those smoking herbs doesn’t destroy what precious brain cells remain in that useless skull.”
This mischievous lioness pranked her mother a few too many times. Sadly, Tyra has no sense of humor, being a psychopath and all. The queen finally found a use for her when she birthed a more suitable princess. After she finishes nursing, that usefulness will run out.

~Bio~
———
Willing to listen and follow all orders from her king, she makes the perfect little princess. Unlike her mother, who Tyra insisted was good for nothing. It may have been senility that caused the old queen to become so cruel, yet still no one prevented her destructive actions. Queen Tyra has always been a brutal ruler, after all. Even the king of the pride— Bharafu, her brother— knew it was in his best interest to not meddle with her decisions.
But he had to draw the line when he saw freshly bleeding scars littering the new princess. Tyra insisted that it was merely obedience training. If she didn’t follow an instruction to the letter, Obedia received a beating. However, Tyra did not remove her clawed gauntlets when she issued them. And Obedia was only a cub!
To prevent further abuse of his grandniece, he whisked the little princess away to his chambers and kept her safe. The poor thing had been touch starved and hardly ever stopped clinging to him when he was near. To make her more comfortable, he laid down the softest furs and pelts in his cave. This gave her a bit more security and she was able to go for longer periods without crying for him.
The queen’s dementia grew more pronounced as Obedia grew. Tyra became forgetful and rambled about things that happened far in the past as if they had happened recently. She grew confused and sometimes violent if someone tried to remind her. Due to her becoming a danger to the pride, Bharafu decreed that they only pretend to follow her orders. Tyra was no longer in her right mind and not fit to rule any longer.
Luckily, Obedia was nearly an adolescent at that time. She had settled down from her past trauma and Bharafu felt she would be old enough to start leading the lionesses soon.
The moment she was 12 months old, Obedia was crowned as the 7th and youngest queen in the pride’s history. The crowning was done away from the watchful eye of the previous queen, who was not aware she was retired. Or what year it was, for that matter.
Still, her loyal birds kept close watch on the lions under rule and relayed the event to her. Tyra has forgotten who Obedia was and that she herself had chosen the cub as a princess. It was also brought to attention that her orders were being ignored. This was clearly a coup started by whoever that disobedient brat was!
The old queen ambushed the new queen the moment she caught her alone. She managed to rake her jeweled gauntlets down the young lioness’s face before she was stopped. A primal that was kept around the royals as muscle stepped between them and pinned Tyra down. The entire pride was furious at the attack, but Bharafu pointed out that she was not in her right mind.
However, since she endangered the new queen, Tyra was sentenced to death. It was more of a euthanizing than an execution, though. Tyra’s own sister, Shamaness Bliss, concocted a toxic plant mash that would painlessly end the elder. Tyra had broken a rib when she was pinned down and Bliss fed her the poison under the guise of it being pain relief. It was technically true, as Tyra felt no more pain after ingesting it. No pain— nothing at all.
Obedia couldn’t help but think the euthanasia was kinder than the old tyrant deserved.
