Azizi, the Hyena Queen
As a cub, Azizi was often teased by many of the other cubs, whom were offered far much more attention by her father and king of the time Nyx. She lacked a title like her mother and many of the others, and such was made to feel down by these other females. Her mother however encouraged her not to listen to their words. Although a harsh lioness Na'Kala cared very much for her daughter, whom she informed had great lineage that would favour her when it was time for the new king to pick a queen and new shamaness.
Na'Kala had a relatively good, if not a slightly domineering relationship with her half sister and cousin, Junjiri, the pride's current shamaness. Along with a handful of other prospective cubs Na'Kala had urged Junjiri to teach her daughter the shaman's ways too; and upon realising Azizi's potential she agreed to take her as one of her apprentices.
Aizizi reluctantly went along with the lessons as instructed by her mother, and although she proved to be an intelligent and studious young lioness she also revealed herself to be quite brutal. Her interests would've been better directed towards hunting and fighting, perhaps to serve as the king's guard, but Na'Kala wouldn't have that and insisted that her daughter would make a fine Shamaness. Being strong would serve it's purposes elsewhere.
Between her apprentice duties and lioness lessons young Azizi sought more stimulation, and often she sneaked out of the Inglorious pride's territory to visit the local hyenas. Said hyenas were relatively neutral to lions; a pact had been made with the pride long ago, and so as long as they left the other alone then no harm would come. But beyond that the hyenas had come to realise the young lioness' strength, which they admired. Strong females were held in high regard by the clan, and soon even the clan's matriarch, Atsunte, took notice whilst Azizi sparred with the others. And when word spread that the young lioness was now to be betrothed to new king Unagi and was to hold a high rank in her pride as the shamaness things really took a turn.
Unfortunately, for as powerful as she was, Astunte was not terrible smart. She did not realise that whilst she had deviously been planning to try and overthrow the lions from the inside with Azizi as her puppet, Azizi herself had already secured the trust of the clan and rallied them together with promises of food and better living.
And naturally, due to her assisting in the clan's hunts and the admiration she received for her strength compared to Atsunte's selfishness, Azizi was in favour. And with that favour she took the chance to challenge the matriarch for leadership - and in true hyena fashion, she decided to play dirty. When Atsunte ordered her clan to attack during the fight they stood by and did nothing, the high-ranking females grumbling to the runts to hold their fire until Azizi did the same. And no sooner had Azizi's orders left her lips did the clan then strike, setting upon their matriarch with such excitable ferocity that she never stood a chance.
The clan had a new queen and the pride a new shamaness.
It was the first time since the rule of her past ancestor Saitama that the lions would live side by side with the local hyenas.
Months passed since the reunification of the hyena clan and the Inglorious pride, and soon enough Azizi welcomed her first litter of cubs into the world - two sons and a daughter. The hyenas were delighted, naturally, particularly in light of the two sons and the mutations they possessed.
"They're like hyenas themselves," one female whooped, "just look at those tails - or lack of!"
