Cheetah never forgave his father for naming his adopted son Rusty as his heir. He believed the kingship was rightfully his, as Whitefang’s firstborn son. His bitterness at being passed over did not go away when he was finally declared king, and his leadership ushered in a reign of terror that only ended with his untimely (and mysterious) death. Even now, the mere mention of his name sparks terror in the hearts of all White Plains pride members, and his offspring are viewed with suspicion despite their best efforts to show they are not like their father.
