When Takala asks their Grandpaw if he'll be there forever, Grandpaw Gahidgie has to break the news that, one day, he'll be gone. Before Takala can start to panic, Grandpaw Gahidgie promises them that he'll be watching over them from the stars, and they'll never have to be afraid because he'll always be with them in their heart. Takala, a little upset that their mother went out for her daily walk, is sniffling and quietly sobbing where she'd left them. Grandpaw Gahidgie scoops them up and pretends to nom at their belly, slobbering all over Takala - whose sniffling and crying was quickly replaced with giggles and squeals. Takala is busy meticulously grooming her paws and claws of any dirt and blood that clings to them. They have to be perfect. She doesn't even notice you.
