Stride lived a quiet life in her previous pride. Everything was great, until her king died and his heir took over. He was too young, too childish, his mentor died too soon and didn't teach him everything. He was a good lion, but he just wasn't ready to become a king. The lionesses began arguing all the time, and the king had no power to stop them. In the end, they all decided to disband the pride. Some lionesses decided to go their own way and become loners, but others hoped to find a new pride. The king wanted to help them. He announced that his lionesses were looking for new homes, and soon leaders of other prides volunteered to take them in.
Stride ended up joining Anza's pride.
She liked living on his lands, the king was kind, the lionesses accepted her and respected her abilities, but Stride missed her old pride... She found new friends quickly, but they couldn't replace the ones that she lost.
She knew where her old friends lived now, so when she knew that Anza will travel in that direction she always volunteered to go with him. Visiting her cubhood friends once in a while made her feel better.
Over time, she got used to her new life. Everything that she experienced in her old pride became just a distant memory.
She gave birth to Anza's first son, Hawk.
For a long time she was a member of The Evening Terrors, but when she grew too old to hunt she moved to the nursery to spend the rest of her life as a caretaker.
She died just a few months later due to a poisonous plant that Yuki fed her instead of her usual herbs. No one found it out, everyone just assumed that Stride died of old age.
