Agate

After a full life of guiding her pride spiritually and raising litters both hers, the prides and allies Agate has passed but she has not left should her pride need her.

History below


Agate had always been a special lioness, as made clear by her knowing things she shouldn't after a nap as a cub often from a first person perspective or seeing 'glowing edges' around pridemates. It didn't take long for the pride shaman to realize Agate was naturally gifted with astral projection and aura reading. She was quickly taken under the Shaman's tutelage which involved time consuming work leaving Agate little time to actually be a cub.

That disconnect with her siblings and cousins left Agate socially awkward. This was a problem as she grew older, along with her insistence that every creature was the same inside, tolerated as a cub but foolish as an adolescent. When it lead to mercy for a pregnant hyena during a lean season her pride had enough and she was chased out with that years young males. Once she was sure she could hunt Agate left them behind not caring for the looks they gave her.

Agate tried her best to join existing prides but the ignorance of some prides had her labeled 'crazy' or a 'witch' with her awkwardness not doing her any favors. A stroll into hyena lands in the hopes of avoiding a hostile pride had Agate bump into a younger male lion named Simblan. He was patient with her quirks, smiling when she finally got her point across instead of berating her for taking so long. The more time Agate spent with him the more she liked him, shock turning into delight when he introduced her to the hyena clan he was part of, even more so seeing the hyena she had spared was the matriarch.

The two lions fell in love, soon starting their own pride where the love and support allowed Agate to come out of her shell to be the gentle and motherly lioness she was mean to be. Her shamanic wisdom aiding Simblan many a time including going to a shrine to help him calm the flame humans had stroked in him. That led to the meeting with Edmund and Eliza that the spirits used to open a bridge between the two species. With the partnership came small liquid filled needles that prevented illnesses even Agate couldn't treat while other prides withered allowing the pride to expand larger then they could have ever dreamed.
