Biography

Angaime
title
x.xx.xxxx - xx.xx.xxxx

That one gathered them, like storm gathers the dead leaves, and ushers them along with it. That frail-looking one who spoke to each of them with a voice like silk thread that holds the moon in place promised them everything, that when she would lead them, she would see to it that their children's children would never have to hunger, never fear beasts nor fire nor anything else in this world. And indeed, they were led out of their captivity by that one.

Into a greater one.

For where they went, the world itself was dyed grey, and one could barely see in front of one's face and just by speaking one would cause their lungs to burn up.

They saw all this:

The noxious fumes lurk in stagnant pools at the bottom of the earth, and roil up in burning steam from the cracks in the scalding stone; around these, a jungle of iron trees, devoid of leaves and gnarled and twisted into surreal shapes, grow -- a constant drizzle of acid fall from the branches and leaves, leaving small craters in the stone where it hit -- and from here, bursts of flame lick up from some region deeper into the crevasses of the earth.

...And they still stayed, when they were told to.

HAHAHA.

...

That one really was the greatest mind this world had ever seen.

Now that one rots in the ground like any other vermin.

This one really admired that one very much, though.

...

Those of them too weary or bewildered to move, this one picked up one by one. They rested often and long into the night, always moving forward and upward.

When they walked out of the fumes, many of them were only corpses being held up by their companions; and many others were blind, and could not see anything save darkness even after they had emerged from the toxic ground. But those corpses and the blind, this one carried them all the same.

They were led up to heaven by this one, and when they opened their eyes at last he told them they were in a land of golden fields with crystal clear water flowing across it.

...

Never mind this water still tasted stale, and felt like swallowing fire; and had an aftertaste of things one would find in the depths of the earth.
