My own mother couldn’t stand to look at me.
My siblings thought I was a monster.
My father acted like I never existed.
Out of a sense of duty, perhaps, my mother still nursed me for the first month, until she, too, gave up on me. It was around that time that I stopped aging, having been frozen in time by being forced to eat some sort of strange creature by the pride’s queen, who seemed to care more about my “uniqueness” than the horribly painful life I was living.
In short, my life was hell on earth.
Only the humans seemed to take pity on me, the day that they made my pride members fall into a deep sleep in order to retrieve me and carry me away in a strange, flying contraption. They handled me with such care, I truly believe that they wanted to help me.
Unfortunately, it would seem that I brought them nothing but bad luck when the flying machine crashed in a ball of fire, killing all the humans inside.
To this day, I still don’t know how I got out of the wreckage, or how long I stayed nearby, exhausted. My next memory involved a beautiful tigon with a dark coat asking me if I was ok. When I didn’t answer, she introduced herself as Alasne and carefully carried me to her pride, where I have lived ever since.
There are others like me here. Immortals, I mean. Some are cubs with strange mutations, others are some of the most unique and stunning creatures you’ll ever meet, but all I know is that I think this is where I truly belong. I think I was born in the wrong pride, in the first place. That’s ok though, because I eventually made my way home.
If only I could stop the nightmares from coming to me in my sleep.

Father was Rivers Whisper; Cub is completely clean!
Poor old Grandpaw Nies was resting away from the cubs for a reason today, but that didn't stop Neramus from bounding over and bumping their Grandpaw's chin with the top of their head in adoration before scarpering off. Grandpaw Nies stares after them as they scamper away, but whatever he wanted to say isn't spoken.
When Grandpaw Nies spots Neramus sulking after they were left out of games, he saunters over and sits down next to them. No words pass between Grandpaw and grandcub, but they seem to have a moment of understanding with each other.
Neramus is following Grandpaw Nies's every move today - hopping in his footsteps, perking up at the same noises, even swishing and flicking their tail like his. Grandpaw Nies is keenly aware that his grandcub is there, but says nothing about it
Little Neramus wakes up from a nightmare and lets out a frightened wail in the dark. Old Grandpaw Abastor rushes over to soothe them. Neramus eventually falls asleep, snuggled against Grandpaw Abastor.
After you grounded Neramus for acting out and being mean, you left them under Grandpaw Abastor's watchful eye. Although Neramus was in a very pouty mood, they couldn't keep pouting with Grandpaw Abastor pulling silly faces behind them to cheer them up a bit.
After earning the wrath of the broodmothers, Neramus was dumped into the paws of Grandpaw Abastor. It didn't take very long for Grandpaw Abastor to get the cub to relax, but the broodmothers swear they made Neramus chill a little for him first.
You see Neramus playing tag with Grandpaw Zeronis. Aww, look at those two go! ... Wow, did Grandpaw Zeronis actually manage to exhaust a full-energy cub this fast? ... And now it looks like he's trying to race with a cheetah. You shake your head. Seems like some things never change, no matter how old he gets.
