Her uncle was adopted by her great-grandfather King Aniag. Lord Topaz titled her grandmother as his ceremonial wife. They never had any offspring. Ava II viewed Lord Topaz as her brother. Pride members believed Lord Topaz's offspring should be appointed as heirs. Others believed Queen Ava's offspring should be heir. Lord Topaz fathered Brave's younger half-sister, Princess Faith. Lord Topaz appointed Queen Ava's second son Ashoka as heir. Ashoka is Brave's uncle. Lord Topaz stated he adopted Ava II's offspring and incorporated them into his family tree.
