.:> Umbulali - The Slayer<:.
Alali may have never been the queen, but she was the most experienced lioness of the pride and wasn't afraid to boast about her skills. She was often referred to as the chief huntress, or the Inkosikazi , by the lionesses that accompany her on hunts. Alali was the second lioness to join Asatari in his pride, recruited to hunt for him and his first mate, Ilitha.
Alali was most often found either out leading a hunt on the savannah or organizing the pride, and many of the pride's young looked up to her as a teacher, as she was primarily responsible to train the next generation of huntresses. Alali was so proud of this position that she wears her full title, Umbulali, with pride and demands her young pupils to call her by that name until they've "graduated" as a full fledged lioness.
When not hunting, Alali vies for Asatari's affections, and it is no secret that she was the mother of his late second-born cub. However, Alali's son, Umlozi, had a terrible temper, and ended up meeting his end at the claws of Tyeba, Asatari's eldest daughter, when Umlozi attacked her out in the savannah. Asatari was forced to exile Tyeba, and in turn Ilitha, to appease Alali's thirst for revenge of Umlozi's death.
When Ilitha left Isipolide, Alali attempted to become Asatari's new queen, but he turned her down in favor of N'Dine, a shyer and more soft-spoken lioness, telling Alali that he needed her to remain his Inkosikazi, and that her grief would cloud her judgment as queen. Alali eventually fell to the way-side, boiling away with anger and bitterness.
Eventually, Alali bore Asatari two daughters, named Umlindi and Ukoyisa, who would become her pride and joy after her years of quiet simmering.
Despite everything, Alali was still one of Asatari's most beloved lionesses, one of his Zintanda, and it pained him every day to see his lover suffer through her grief. The King is beyond happy that his Inkosikazi could find pride and happiness again in their daughters before she left this world.
