This winter brought quite the surprise..as you were looking at the cubs born, you found an exceptionally small newborn. It had soft brown fur and red skin, and a light tan marking that ran all the way down its belly. Its mother picked it up and started to wash it, licking the cub's ears. It mewed in protest, a small, shrill sound. The lioness looks worried, unsure what you'd do with the round-bellied infant lion, but you bent down to sniff it and moved on.
The small cub your lioness gave birth to is starting to grow. At two months now, the youngling your pride has decided to name Asani has started to walk. Her legs are tiny compared to her body. She mews softly and buries herself under a pelt, using it as a shield from the winter's harsh sword. The cub then sticks her light brown head out, her bright purple and turquoise eyes unblinking. She rolls over on her back, using the pelt as a blanket, and paws at the air playfully. You smile before moving on to other cubs.
Asani is getting bigger. She's now four months, only a month away from being weaned from her mother. The cub has been pretend-pouncing on other cubs, though never successful due to her short legs. However, she seems to have some health complications. Her shorter muzzle makes it hard for her to breath, and she tends to stumble on her short limbs. Sometimes she can be lethargic and not want to play with other cubs, a cause for worry.
Asani is rarely moving. It seems that her body is too big for her legs.. She refuses to eat, so she has become terrifyingly skinny. You sigh, thinking about some decisions you'd have to make. Suddenly, an idea sparks in your head. You run out of the den, taking a trip to the trading center. If you couldn't find anything there, you'd go to the branch sales. Anything to save the cub.
Asani came to the Desert wanderers as a gift from a close friend of the pride leader, she was welcomed warmly and granted one of the most important roles, an Allseer. She symbolizes the shred of hope her old pride had that she would live.
