He's already spent hours with her, and she's even spent the night cuddled up to the King in his own cave. She is loud, sarcastic, and just very un-ladylike, so it astonishes them. But since she was a cub, Sugar was head over heels. The soft rainbow in her coat had him stuck to her from the beginning. When he smelled her first heat, he spent hours finding the right king for her. One she liked, that he thought would treat her right. He fretted over the hours she was absent from the pride, and wouldn't relax until she was back, belly full of cubs. Not to mention - her cubs? Oh, you would've thought they were his own flesh and blood, the way Sugar adored them. Especially the bobbed tail one, it almost hurt his own daughters to see how he was with them. Even before deciding to rehome one, Sugar made sure Absinthe was absolutely okay with it. He would never tell his other lionesses this, but if he died today, he would leave Absinthe in charge. She is soft-spoken and gentle with him, taking his fears away and allowing him to relax the way a king should in her presence. He had never felt that before, but he found her and very quickly realized that this must be his true Queen.
