silver spot

you walk to the back of the den and see a silver lioness surrounded by cubs of many kinds staring out of an opening in the cave roof looking at the stars. as she hears you approach she looks up to you and lets out a warning hiss as you step closer. "that's close enough." her stern expression then turns into a curious one as you take a step back and sit. "and who might you be?"

you state your name and a smile makes its way on the lioness's muzzle. "well then, that's a wonderful name!" she pauses and looks to the cubs before returning her gaze to the cubs. "id get up and greet you but as you can see my paws are full" she laughs. "I'm silverspot and I look over any abandoned and orphaned cubs that mercury ghost or I come across.

"Why. you ask." she tilts her head pondering "I guess I never asked myself that question" she pauses momentarily gathering her thoughts. "maybe because of my past?" she turns to you and sees your confused gaze.

" you see when i was a cub I was abandoned by a river." she takes on a solemn expression "I was born in a dwarf pride and as you can see I'm not a dwarf" she lets out a humorless laugh " I guess that's why they did it.

" she paused sighing "mercury ghost found me. she said I was almost dead when she found me. I was severely malnourished. she took me in and raised me. now the last thing I want is a cub to go through what I went through so I take them in. no matter their species."

"mercury ghost sure was surprised when I brought home a bear cub who was orphaned" she laughed "but she understood so she doesn't say anything when I return with more cubs, she just smiles and nods her head to me."

".....you can actually find him with violet marble, if a lion here in the pride has an animal companion most likely it was a cub saved by me!"

the cubs start crying and she looks at them before standing. "anyway I'm sorry, I hate to cut this talk short but I have to find some food for the cubs. thank you for stopping by." she walks off as you stand and leave to find another lion or go home.
