Amali is the oldest lioness in Froid's pride, yet despite her obvious seniority above the others, she is regarded the least by the pride leader and the rest of the male lions. She is described as a useless lioness with no talent at all and a mistake to have in the pride, yet she is only kept it in because of her experience with protecting cubs and because she wants to see the one litter of cubs she and Froid had together grow and earn a place in the pride. Despite the male opinion of her, other lionesses treat her with respect and frequently visit her to gossip and to hear her wisdom. They respect her even if she is snarky and bitter because of how Froid and the other males view her, especially when she protected them all.
