Her mother saw this as a positive sign that the cold season would bring good luck to the pride, and always made sure to keep Kea snug in her belly fur to protect her from the snowstorm raging outside their den. Although not born in the same litter, Kea and ʻEle Hiwa are closely bonded and find comfort in each other's presence. Like Yin and Yang, not only are they opposite in color, they are opposite in personality. This, however, works out in their favor, bringing a balance to the two when they are together.
