When Nahala was born, everyone were fascinated with her unusual, beautiful green fur. Her mom, a lioness with a golden fur and brown eyes, always loved to spend time away from the pride, connecting with nature and animals of other species. She made friends with birds, snakes and rodents. Always covered in moss, leaves and flowers, this shy lioness used to spend more time in a forest than with their pride mates. One day, she came out of the woods earlier than usual. With choppy steps, she reached the heir immediately, and with a trembling voice she said:
"Forgive me, my king, but I saw the most handsome male in the woods. His beautiful fur looked like my favourite places in forest, it was green, reminding me of a wet season when everything is easier..."
When she finished, she looked at her king with a fear in her eyes. He was completely different than a lion she saw earlier. His red fur reminded her of a blood, hunting and killing. A spiky and longer fur going from his neck to his tail made him look really big and scary. But he was an understanding king. "Let's go and look for him then. I guess we have a proposition for this male, don't we?"
He smiled even if his ego was hurting at the moment.
Salama spent a wonderful time with a mysterious male whose fur looked like the most beautiful forest meadow with golden flowers.
When the kittens were born, everyone knew instantly that at this day when Salama and Ruaidhri went to the forest to search for a mysterious male, they found him.
One of them had the unusual green fur, never seen in this pride before. She got a name, Nahala, and when she grew up a little, she became a friend of birds and snakes, just like her mother.
Latin spelling of the Persian name نهاله (Nahala) = 'young tree', 'sapling'
