At first, Coy Fish was planning on killing the plain looking lioness that had wandered into his pride. But, well, she was in heat and and was pretty. When she gave birth to 8 cubs, Fish was pleasantly surprised. A double uterus, just what his pride needed. He made sure to keep her in check and remind her that she was only allowed because she could produce more cubs even better than herself.

Sparrow's mate eventually found her and tried to help her escape. She had only been trying to find materials to build a nest when Coy Fish had found her in heat and bred her. He had made sure she remained within his sight until she gave birth to 8 cubs. After that, he kept her too weak and malnourished to even think about escaping. Days later, staring wistfully at the world beyond Fish's territory, she spotted a white lion. She became delighted and overjoyed when she realized that the lion was her mate. Not seeing Coy Fish anywhere, she snuck over to her husband and began to weep as she begged him to save her. Distraught at finding his mate in such a state the white lion tried to save her. Coy Fish had been watching from a short distance away, and waited until Sparrow had crossed the scent line that marked his territory before he struck the husband. He brutally killed him and chased Sparrow back into the brooding cave, where he beat her again. He was gone for five days after that, leaving Kimba in charge. When he returned, he held a folded up white pelt in his mouth. Blood still dripped from it and without warning he draped it over Sparrow.

"There, now you will always have your husband near." He had sneered and swatted her before leaving the poor scarred lioness in horrified shock.

Sparrow had been broken. Seeing her mate brutally murdered in front of her and then having his still bloodied skin thrown over her was more than the lioness could handle. She now refused to take off her mate's skin and grew enraged at any attempt the others made to try and convince her to see reason.

Coy Fish walked over to Sparrow, a sadistic grin on his face as he rubbed up against her and purred. Sparrow huffed angrily, the beginnings of a snarl on her snout. Coy Fish just laughed and trailed a claw across the skin of her former mate. He loved watching his trouble lionesses slip into insanity.
