Tania

Memories…
DuskSight was the first king to rule this pride. He was a calm and simple lion, and ruled with fairness to his member. DuskSight wasn’t the most attractive, but he was a good leader. The first two lionesses to ver join his pride were young friends, ShadePounce and SunDancer. ShadePounce was a skilled hunter, and SunDancer a kind hearted care taker. Tania is the first daughter of SunDancer and DuskSight, and she was instantly the center of attention with her adorable and odd folded ears. The two were very pleased to have such a lovely cub… but sadly their joy didn’t last long. Tania had only just begun weaning from her mother when SunDancer went missing while out on a walk. The pride searched for days, but there was no sign of the missing lioness, just a few scattered droplets of blood that no one wanted to admit most likely belonged to their pridemate.
Tania was heart broken, and couldn’t accept the loss of her mother. ShadePounce, who had loved SunDancer and her daughter dearly, tried to raise the cub herself from then on. Tania was still young when she decided to sneak away in search of her mother outside of her pride’s territory. DuskSight and ShadePounce were both heart broken when they woke to find Tania gone, and sadly the beautiful young lioness never returned… at least not before DuskSight and ShadePounce passed away of old age.
So what happened to Tania you may ask? The young and confused lioness wandered farther from home than she meant to. Lost and delirious from dehydration, she found herself in another male’s land. Luckily, he took pity on the cub, and to be honest, he liked the look of her silly ears. Tania had no choice but to join their pride, as she couldn’t remember the way home and DuskSight wasn’t a well enough known king for anyone else to lead her back. She spent the majority of her life with the new pride, until one day a young lioness scurried by. She explained that she had wandered off but that she knew her way home, because she was “a skilled hunter.” Tania chuckled because this cub was clearly too young to be a skilled hunter, but somthing about her seemed familiar. Tania questioned the cub, DecayingReef, for a moment before discovering she was a a great grandchild of DuskSight. Tania couldn’t believe it and explained she had known the cub’s grandmother and that DuskSight had been her father, making them family. Tania was sad to go, but she explained to her pride that in her old age she desired to return home, and be buried near ShadePounce and DuskSight when the time came. Her pride agreed this was something Tania needed to do, and along side DecayingReef she headed home.
Tania was surprised to see the now large and thriving pride, with many mutated and even hybrid lions. There weren’t any faces Tania recognized immediately, since she had been so young when she got lost, and all the members from when she was a cub would have been king gone by now. She did however feel at home, and was gladly accepted by HyenaCackle, who despite his cold nature to outsiders, is fiercely protective and loving to his pride. Tania found her old cave where she and her mother slept, it was full of cubs with their own mother. This brought joy to her heart. Tania could feel the loving presence of her mother, her father, and ShadePounce all together. She was home, and would love out the rest of her days here, carrying on her parent’s legacy.
