When Cotton's previous pride fell apart, she got separated from her former pride-mates. She wondered the pride lands alone for a while before she met Zephyr when he noticed her beautiful fur that made her stand out from any other lionesses that wondered near his pride. Though VelvetPride is run much more differently than her previous pride and is much crueler, she feels more secure. Overtime she became one of the pride's second in command. She stepped up to take care of all the lionesses in the main den and often help's plan out who will go out hunting. A few years after she arrived to the pride, she gave birth to Cotton II. Who is an almost identical lioness to Cotton. Though Cotton II was originally named VividLight, due to Zephyr and the rest of the pride always calling her Cotton II her original name was quickly forgotten by the others, though Cotton still call's her VividLight when speaking to her privately. She has high hopes VividLight will follower in her footsteps and eventually become second in command when she retires.
