Aciano

"There's power in looking silly and not caring that you do."

Born to Auburn in a pride full of protection and love, Aciano has never experienced pain or fear. Only love, care, and joy. Aiken was her number one protector and even though he was not her father, he never treated her as less than. He treated her with the care and respect she deserved as a little cub, and so, between his love and protective nature, and her mother's caring heart, Aciano flourished in the mighty forest pride. She spent her cubhood playing mossball with the other cubs and chatting away with all of them about small animal care and how to treat wounds. Still she holds that care and love in her heart, and is stepping up quite readily to take her mother's place as the prides healer. She spends her days now helping tend to her mothers critters, and helping her mother collect herbs and healing items for the pride. She shadows her mother on any medical related outing and has learned quickly her role.

During a distant trip to the Savannah, Aciano, Auburn and Aisi found an orphaned, injured cheetah cub cowering in between a rock and some tall grass. For a while the trio watched the cub from a distance, waiting to see if the mother ever returned, after a few hours, the day turned to dusk and Aciano grew restless. Her mother, Auburn tried to talk some sense into her, telling her that the pride couldn't take in a cheetah cub, and that sometimes letting the circle of life run it's course was the kindest thing one could do for a creature, but Aciano refused. Determined to protect every life she can, she carefully stepped into the tall grass with the cub, and coaxed her over. The cub, just happy to have a source of warmth next to her, snuggled in. Eventually, Aciano emerged from the grass with the cub, gently scruffed, and asleep in her mouth. She carried her all the way back to the pride. Eventually the cub did heal from her wounds, and began to venture out of the healers den, where she was accepted by the pride, including Aiken, who was at first a bit confused by the idea, but understood his daughters' need and desire to help and protect every creature, even other big cats. The cub bonded most to Aciano however, and still sticks close to her side, including sleeping in her nest still. Aisi treats the little cub like a daughter as well, and they have made the decision together to raise her like their own. They've named her Zuri. As Zuri grows, she plans to stick with the pride through it all, and even though she is a bit curious about the lives and journeys of cheetahs, she knows she could never live their solitary life.
