Oh, the Angel of Bast's light! Protect and guide us till the end comes...!
Named after the Egyptian goddess of protection, pleasure, and the bringer of good health, Bastet is a gentle soul with elegance and a calming presence.
From the moment she was born, Isis saw something in her that nobody else did. According to her, she was special in some way that she couldn't quite understand yet. She took her under her care and treated her almost like a mother.
Meanwhile, Bastet grew and soon became not only a beautiful lioness but one of the most gentle, kind, and understanding members of the pride. She did come off to some as overbearing at times, and a little too curious for her own good, but she didn't let any of those comments get into her head.
When she saw how one of the younger adolescents, Arya, had trouble interacting with other lions, she decided to help her and soon the two became close. Bastet considered Arya her best friend.
Her life came to an end once she tried to stop her own mother from releasing the evil spirits into the real world. Her mother murdered her in cold blood, without any remorse. She woke up in a strange place, with not only new adornments but also a pair of heavenly wings. At first, she wasn't sure where she was or the purpose of her being there, but now she knows. She is the spiritual protector of the pride, making sure no outside force harms them. She watches the pride of The Peaceful Spring from the Empyrean, the home to the Council of Ancients, helping when she can. She can't physically interact with the living, but she can appear in their dreams. When she was brought into the council, she asked Astrea and other spirits for help when it came to Morpheus. It was because of her that the revolt even happened and succeded once she took over her daughter's body to deliver the final blow to the tyrant. It's also thanks to her that Astrea became the new King. She does feel a little guilty about it though. She knows the Star Maiden once given a mortal body will never be able to return to her spirit form.
Bastet really misses her daughter, Sekhmet. She used to watch over her from the Spirit World when she was still alive, as she is now watching over her descendants.
------------------------
Little Bastet wakes up from a nightmare and lets out a frightened wail in the dark. Old Grandpaw Saburi rushes over to soothe them. Bastet eventually falls asleep, snuggled against Grandpaw Saburi.
After you grounded Bastet for acting out and being mean, you left them under Grandpaw Saburi's watchful eye. Although Bastet was in a very pouty mood, they couldn't keep pouting with Grandpaw Saburi pulling silly faces behind them to cheer them up a bit.
After earning the wrath of the broodmothers, Bastet was dumped into the paws of Grandpaw Saburi. It didn't take very long for Grandpaw Saburi to get the cub to relax, but the broodmothers swear they made Bastet chill a little for him first.
It's funny how long Bastet can remain amused by a stick. It's not even a proper toy! But there they are, dragging it around in circles. Wait...are they drawing something?
You noticed Bastet pushing an ostrich chick with her nose to help it get up, and watching it tumble away back to its mom. You sit down, smiling at her. What a cutie.
You were trying to hide that you scratched your paw in the last battle, but Bastet came up to softly groom it for you. Thanks, sweetheart.
You watch Bastet quietly for a while, and she grooms herself cutely, seeming to glow in your presence.
Bastet greets you warmly with a soft rumbling noise like a purr. You feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
You place the offering at your pridemember's resting place. It arises again and their decaying body turns into a moving, life-like vessel. How incredible it is to interact with them again!
