Stories
Cordette was born very tiny and cute. Her parents thought she would grow more but she didn't. Her mother thought she was the cutest thing and loved her very much. Her father thought she was odd but still loved her. When Cordette was born, just about 2 months old. She loved playing with cubs. She also loved plants. She really loved the chase insects. Her favorite insect was the butterfly. She loved how light it was when it flew. She loved the colors they could be as well. As she grew up, she began to get an interest in herbs. Her mother would fuel this by giving her herbs and teaching her about them.
-------------------------
When she was an adolescent, her pride began to discuss rehoming her. She didn't want to leave her family, but she didn't have a voice in this decision. She would try to enjoy the little things she loved while she could. She would say goodbye to her favorite butterfly, Shilah. She had named her that. About two weeks later, a decision was made, Cordette would rehome. She cried a bit but finally came to the conclusion that this was what was best for her. She would pack her backs as her mother and father said, "You must get ready for your new home, Cordette. We love you and don't forget to call!" Her mother would drop her off at her new pride, waving goodbye. She waved back and turned to walk into the pride. She didn't look back due to not wanting to cry again.
-------------------------
It had been a few days since she rehomed. She began to open up to her new pride king. She would express how she was good with herbs. She also loved flowers. The king allowed her to make her own garden. He also later decided she would be the prides healing person. She was very happy that she was granted this job. She took it on with full responsibility and did her best. She also made a new butterfly friend; she named her Zayla.
-------------------------
She had spent her whole life in this pride, she enjoyed her stay. In fact, she began to call this place home. She even passed down her dwarfism to a cub, her mother would be proud to hear, she passed down her heritage. Sadly, her mother had died long ago. Cordette knew her time would be up soon, as she had just hit 15 years and 5 months today. This made her sad but she had lived a full life, and made many friends. She pass down her beautiful garden to her dear friend, Kai'Alani. She knew she would love it, just as much as she had. That night she would enter her garden for the last time. As she walked, she felt the ground had no effect on her tiny paws. She would go around smelling all the roses, tulips and sunflowers she had grown. She sat down on the log bench, the king had built for her. Behind her, she heard loud paws, coming to her. Her friend and her daughter who still lived in this pride, came to her. Kai'Alani sat next to her and her daughter sat on the ground. They all paused, taking a moment to take in the beautiful garden. Cordette then look up to Kai'Alani and smiled.
-------------------------
Kai'Alani then spoke. "I knew we could find you here. We just wanted to talk with you one last time." She trailed off, choking down tears.
Cordette reached over and put her small arm on Kai'Alani's back. `` There, there. My dear friend. It will be alright. I've lived a full life, I need to rest. You will carry on this beautiful garden for me, you will remind the king to not be so hard on himself. You will bring anyone here who needs peace. I trust you with my garden, I trust you with everything. |She then paused, looking down at her daughter.| You, my love, will take on my heritage, our families heritage. You will blossom, like the flower you are. You will ultimately find truth and beauty and wisdom and peace. You will understand that nothing will last forever, not pain nor joy nor us and maybe someday, even the garden. But that is the beauty of life, when something ends, you hold that memory tight and start something new. I will always watch over you, with all the strength I've got left. You will never be alone, along with you Kai'Alani. You can always reach out to me, as I am never truly gone. As long as you hold on to me in your hearts, I will never die.`` After Cordette said this, Kai'Alani got up and hugged her tightly. At this point, they were all sobbing, including Cordette. Kai'Alani then said, while holding Cordette.
"I will never forget you, you are my best friend. I am so sad, to see us part. We were like water and flowers. One needed the other to exist. I will personally guide your spirit to Zion, as it would be my duty." Kai'Alani let Cordette out of her arms and looked down at her daughter. She had fallen asleep, laying on the soft grass. Kai'Alani picked her up and brought her to her nest, before returning back to Cordette, sitting down once more.
-------------------------
The two would sit in the garden, until morning. They would talk about the garden and how to care for it. Along with how to make sure her daughter have the best life without her. At sometime in the night, the two fell asleep. Cordette'Athea was laying on Kai'Alani's back, as Kai'Alani stretched across the bench. When Kai'Alani woke up, she shook to wake up, Cordette'Athea. When this failed, she panicked and put Cordette'Athea on the ground. She screamed for help and it was confirmed an hour later, that she had passed.
