Samita has been on her own as long as she can remember. Her parents abandoned her due to being sickly and a runt. She got trapped in a snare as a cub, and as a result, is mute from the extensive scarring on her throat. However, when she was quite young, she met a young serval her age named Rashiq. Rashiq brought her back to his mother, and they took her in. She doesn't consider Rashiq her sibling at all, but as a lifelong friend (and perhaps more). They gave her a name, Samita, meaning silent. Rashiq speaks for her, able to understand even when she doesn't speak.
