Lore
Solis was Queen Suava's most trusted hunting partner and greatest friend. Upon the queen's retirement on 9/27/22, she announced that Solis would serve as the new Queen of Crudelis. The lioness was extremely honored, though worried how Rubicundae, the queen's eldest living daughter, would feel. Some believe that these things should be passed through blood. But, Rubicundae felt no animosity towards this decision. Or, she didn't show any.
To honor the now retired First Queen of Crudelis, Solis presented her the title of Queen Mother. She did, after all, provide the current heir of the pride. The other lionesses all viewed her as a mother figure as well. It definitely is a most suiting title for Suava.
Solis served her pride well. She kept First King Quisquiliae in check, and upon his death, helped Suava's son Lacer into his new role as King of Crudelis. The Queen would continue to serve as the new king's advisor. The lionesses all held great respect for her. Many of her daughters still remain in the pride, happy to honor their mother and serve their king.
While arguably still in its youth, the Crudelis pride lacks in structure and tradition. Solis and King Lacer had a lot of meetings about this very topic. The two decided that primarily, the pride will run by lineage: all kings should trace back to Lacer, and all queens to Solis. The current king or queen can decide the heir for themselves. There is an exception; rulers may be challenged by anyone willing to try, and should the challenger succeed, they will take over as king or queen.
Solis named her daughter Itineri as her heir.
The queen decided to retire at 14.5 years old, taking on the title of Queen Mother while Itineri became Queen. Itineri shows great promise as a ruler, and is an exceptional huntress. She mated with the king during her first heat and had twins: a boy and a girl. The boy, Durus, was crowned the prince at 1 year old. The girl, Inane, will be raised to take over as queen should anything happen to her mother. It is expected that she is likely to produce the next Queen. Solis is incredibly proud both of her daughter and her grandchildren. She will spend her retirement years making sure to teach them all she knows and set them up for great success in their futures.
