Luna Moon A stoic yet quite prideful Lioness. Currently sobbing on a nest in the darkest corner of Ostrich Cave, the other Lionesses attempting to comfort her.
She was born from another pride, like most other Lionesses here. The king in that pride determined that she should not be kept and was abandoned at the Giving tree. She hid under some of the bushes near the tree but was lured out by a juicy fruit. She was roughly picked up by the scruff and as she tried to see who it was, she saw Jarliv. He held on so tightly it hurt, and it was like that the entire journey back to the Pride. Being dropped down in a mostly empty cave, two lionesses named Rosemary and Chrysalis looking at her and welcoming her with open Paws. Jarliv not being so hospitable. She tried so, so hard to be worthy in his eyes as a cub and adolescent. Only when helping to catch a big carcass was she given the light of day. Being trained and hunting every day, to the point of fainting. But this is what she wanted right? She's finally getting praise from her Leader.. and 'she couldn't be happier.' Said Jarliv grinning while talking to another dragon in Crossroads. She was a prop, on display as the greatest and youngest fighter in his pride. She wasn't comfortable with all the strange lions around and tried to slink away. but soon realized Jarliv had a hold of her tail, yanking her closer and wrapping his paw around her torso. "Ugh, adolescents.. Seems like you haven't had enough discipline." Jarliv joked and said goodbye to the other Lions. It was a quiet journey back and as soon as they reached the pride, he roared for Painted, another adolescent with wounds galore. "Teach this nuisance how to be a good Lioness, i trust I've teached you enough to mentor this disgrace." Painted nodded and ushered Luna to the training grounds. "What are you going to do?" Luna said nervously, looking at Painted. Painted only looked straight ahead, "I-.. I'm going to teach you how to be- obedient..." She said trying to sound stern, but her voice couldn't help but crack. Luna wasn't quite sure what it meant but has a suspicion it wasn't good. At the west side of the territory was a boulder covering the entrance to a large cave, Painted and Luna both cracked a small hole to fit through. It was pitch dark. "Why are we here?" Luna asked, the only light being the moonlight of outside. "Jarliv told me to put you in here.. so, you know what happens when you 'disobey'... It's not just you specifically. So don't think I'm the bad guy here.." Painted said, all Luna could hear was footsteps, and before she knew it, she heard the boulder start to move. "Wait! No let me out! I'm scared!" She tried running to the exit, but it was sealed just before she could reach it. "NO! PLEASE! DONT LEAVE ME HERE!" Luna sobbed loudly, clawing on the boulder desperately. But she heard and saw nothing back, just pitch darkness.
For 4 days and 3 nights she was stuck there, no light or food. just murky cave water she tried to ration. On the 3rd night the boulder opened up, Luna Moon was lying on the cave floor looking at him and whimpering. "Get up, or I'll leave you here till you die." Jarliv ordered, Luna heard this echo into the large cave and scampered onto her paws. Weakly rushing towards Jarliv. "I won't do anything bad again I'm sorry!" She sobbed, pleading although not doing anything inherently wrong. "Good, I'll send you on a hunt and then you can return to the pride. But if you don't catch anything I'll leave you out in the savannah sun." Jarliv threatened, Luna's malnourished and tear-stained face nodded vigorously.
[the stuff below is way wayy WAYYY later in her life just clarifying]
Luna Moon was in a Hunting patrol, she's long forgiven Painted's actions, but that doesn't mean she forgot, she looks at Painted warily as the two of them tread along in the dead of night, being the only available huntresses at that moment. "Did, (ahem) Did He tell us where we're supposed to be hunting?" Luna asked, her head hanging low as her eyes drag onto Painted. 'He said the drylakes are being frequented by a herd recently, and he saw a big herd pass by one of the northwest drylakes.' Painted's voice was melodic and angelic. Simply hearing her speak made my stomach churn, but, not like i ate crowfood churn... it was something else, something weirder. It made me uncontrollably smile. Apparently i was staring a little to obviously, because i heard painted ask 'Lulu? Are you alright? You're not still upset about what i did all those years ago, are you?' Her ears pinned, her pupils shrinking slightly. 'If you are i do hope you know i had to do that, i didn't want to lock you in there honestly you probably think I'm the worst because of that i wouldn't blame you I'm honestly the worst lion in the pride-' "No!" I blurted, Painted's spiral coming at a halt to look at me, our paces slowing down. "I-!.. sorry. I don't blame you for anything, and I'm not upset. If there was anything i was still upset about id be angry at Jarliv, not you! Were in the exact same boat, and the waves of the water are trying to divide us. Make us want to claw each other's necks out in rage and trauma, but, it was neither of our faults that waters wanted us dead." I rubbed against her side. Apparently, that was the wrong move, because Painted stopped in her tracks and started uncontrollably sobbing. "Oh, I'm sorry! Was there a wound there? or, did i say something wrong? What happened??" '(hic! hic! sniiff) OH, LUNA!' Painted throws herself onto me!.. Holding me? wait, hugging me?? 'I LOVE YOU LUNA!! (sniff) SO M(hic!)CH!' As she continues to sob on, i can't help but feel happiness, but on a different level... I wish we could just, embrace like this for all eternity..
