As you lie on a rock enjoying the sun, a movement makes your ears perk up. There, across the plain, a herd of wildebeest gallop as one before stopping near a grove of trees to graze on the fresh morning grass. You stand up and see the silhouette of a lioness, well camouflaged by her coat.
And just as you thought she was getting ready to hunt, you notice a different, darker form beside her.
To your astonishment, you realise that the lioness is there to look after the herd and the young orphaned wildebeest.

*Herd Guards are responsible for the welfare and dispersal of the living herds within the territory. They take care of each orphaned or injured animal they find on patrol until it is old enough or strong enough to be reintegrated into a herd.
Herd guards work alongside the hunters, their task being to inform the Lead Huntress which herd or animal they are to hunt.
