Amber sighed, as she watched her eldest daughter sashay across camp, the lionesses long, silky mane billow out behind her. Her daughter was one of the prettiest in the camp, but she certainty had the most attitude. Amber wished she could sit back and enjoy her time as one of the elderly council members without having to worry about what trouble her eldest was getting herself into. She turned away, retreating into the cave of shining gems. It was busy, a recent rainfall had collapsed part of the outside camp, and the pride were taking refuge inside. Amber flicked her crown from her head and tossed it into her nest. She was supposed to wear it to symbolise something about bearing cubs, but that was an old rule, times had changed. Amber settled into her nest, closing her eyes. She wanted some quiet inside her head, at least for a while.
