After getting separated from her pride, Divine had no choice but to stumble through the storm on her own. Shivering and just certain she was already lost, she'd begun to lose hope, she'd never find her way home now.
As the storm raged on, snow turned to ice that clung to her sides and made an impossible journey even harder. She flopped into the snow with a heavy sigh, having given up any hope of finding somewhere warm. Perhaps she should've stayed where she was lost, maybe her family would have found her, or at least find her body to give her a proper burial. Now she was lost, alone, scared, and worst of all, she felt freezing cold.
"You poor thing... where is your family?" A voice rumbled, deeper than even her father's. Her response was barely a squeak, she couldn't form words anymore. "Where did you come from? You're pawprints are gone… hmm. C'mon kid, I know a place that'll take you in." She forced her eyes open just enough to see a large male, bigger than any her pride had ever had.
But that wasn't what she found strange. His mane, his entire coat even looked strange, as if it were made of ice… .
"Poor thing, wonder what happened to her…"
"Who could leave a cub in this storm, especially one so beautiful!"
"I've no idea, but if I run into her, it'll be the last time she does anything."
"Barley, calm down. You're not helping her but getting angry. Oh, it looks like she's waking up! Why don't you get her something to eat? I'm sure she'd appreciate it."
"Anything you say, Seneri."
Divine was surprised when her eyes opened. She'd thought she died out in the snow, but here she was. Looking around the cave, she couldn't help but notice the tunnels and offshoots leading deeper underground. Lions of many different colors bustled throughout, lounging together, playing with cubs, or coming and going from hunts and patrols. Everyone seemed so happy here… "Hello little one. I'm glad to see you're doing alright."
Two lions approached her, one carrying a small carcass that made her mouth water at the sight. "I'm Limstella, King of this pride. I'm sure you're still exhausted, so I'll save the questions for later. Feel free to explore and meet the pride, this can be your home for as long as you need.
