“Come on! Hurry! “ Gartella yelled at the frantic lions and cubs as they ran past her. They were escaping their own pride leader, who had gone batshit insane. She was trying to murder the entire pride because they pointed out she wasnt the same, and they suggested she be nicer to them and their cubs.
She was also caught in the act of killing Gartella’s cub, as she claimed it wasn't worth anything. Her own sister's cub. Her niece. But Gartella heard her daughters scared wail and came running like a charging bull, and knocked her away, roaring at her as she backed up in shock.
But back to the present.
They had thrown a rock at her head, knocking her out. But she'd be awake soon. Just then, she heard Nocturnal’s groan as she woke up from her unconsciousness. Gartella noticed her step mother struggling along, and ran to her to help. “Cmon, Aoife- I know she's your daughter, but that's just it- she's not. I don't know what's gotten into her- but she's not your daughter anymore. I'm sure we'll find a way to save her, but for now we need to hide before she kills us- she needs time to calm down. “
The older lioness just nodded and picked up the pace.
“Pen, will you guard the back please? I need to lead the pride. “
The ginger rosetted lion nodded and slowed until she was at the back.
Gartella marched to the front, and trotted carefully as to not spill the contents inside her pouch she was wearing. The chains Nocturnal had put on them made it hard to walk, but she'd just ignore it for now. They didn't have time to take them off. She only hoped the others could do the same.

They eventually came up to a small lake, and found a cave inside a mountain next to it.
The cave was large and it was extremely far away from their former home. It was nice inside, with soft moss and grass to lay on, and even a small pool inside for drinking/bathing.
Gartella decided this was perfect.
They all decided to call it
