Walking through Strut’s territory, you found a spot heated by the sun where a lioness lies. Her fur is of a color you rarely see around, it shines under the light. She’s looking at the rest of the pride, a satisfied look on her face. You don’t want to disturb her peace.
Strut tells you as you go further…
“This is Asali. She joined us pretty late, but she’s beloved by all here”
Asali is the pride elder. The pride elder has little to no participation in hunting and are not broodmothers. It is a title reserved to the eldest member of the pride, and to be passed down to the next oldest when they eventually pass. The next oldest can choose to take and live by this title whenever they see it fit after the age of 10 years old. If they feel the lioness younger than them need it most, they can pass it down too.
The pride elder wears traditional jewelry that is speculated to give them a closer connection to the spirits of the past.
They participate into inner pride activities, such as teaching, keeping watch, etc. They may also breed up until whenever they please.
