As the adoption center protector, Goldenheart was tasked with entertaining the prides cubs and defending the new generations from dangers. For 15 years he played with the cubs to give their mothers rest while they stayed in the adoption den, and watched as one by one the generations of lions moved to the other dens or were given up to other prides. He cared for the cubs as if they were his own, and taught them important lessons to help them grow. Old and tired, Goldenheart took his leave from the adoption den, having a small chat with RedStarlight to make arrangements for a new protector to stand in his place. He knew his time was almost up, and he didnt want the cubs he was caring for to go mistreated, or be put in danger. Nodding to his king, he took his leave and moved to their newcomers den, where he laid down and peacefully passed in his sleep. Lionesses from the women's den and daughters den laid him to rest with flowers and drapes. He now cares for cubs lost in the spirit world with his sister, Heartstrings
