Aksonya was relieved to give her name to another king than her father. She'd actually planned on leaving, maybe for Belshazzar's pride, or going far out into the unknown to find completely unrelated lions who wouldn't judge her for her heritage. Dirty they called her. But she couldn't help that her parents shared a father! Why should she be punished and ridiculed for their actions. But when she gave her name to Tavarys, and he spoke it for the first time, his tone was warm, reverent, like a prayer, like she was precious to him. She knew then she'd made the correct choice.
