She watched the evil king talking with her son. 𝐻𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑏𝑒 𝑏𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑤𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑖𝑚 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔. 𝑀𝑦 𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑏𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 ℎ𝑖𝑚. She thought with a low growl. He leaned down and whispered into the young male's ear, looking her dead in the eye while he spoke.

She lazily ate at the carcass in front of her, snarling at the greedy lioness trying to steal her share. "Back up, you already had some." The lioness rolled her eyes and walked away, flicking her tail. Aoife just snickered, and continued chowing down on the meat.

She finished up and was licking the blood off her paws when suddenly her former son, but now daughter, Nocturnal, came walking through the grass and into the clearing where the pride was located. Her daughter looked different, not only was she covered in blood and scratches, but she had the former king's chain around her neck, digging into it just like it did to the king before. But there was something else. Nocturnal had a sort of far look in her eyes, nothing like how her soft eyes looked before. They also seemed to have a cloudy film over them. She shook it off, surely her daughter would be fine. But why was she wounded, and where was the king..?

After she learned her daughter was the new pride leader, she gladly celebrated with everyone else. But she couldnt help but feel as though something were off with her Nocturnal.

She greeted her daughter as she walked past, but Nocturnal just ignored her. What? Nocturnal always said hello to her mother. She decided to get up and follow after Nocturnal, and finally managed to stop her.
"Hey, are you okay? Is there something wro-" Nocturnal whipped around to face her, cutting her off. "Shut it hag, or i'll rip out your throat." She spat, then walked away. Aoife shuddered- that definitely was 𝒏𝒐𝒕 Nocturnal. Her eyes looked crazed, and she never spoke to her mother like that before. She didnt believe she ever would, either.
What had gotten into her.....?
