One day, during a patrol, Anza spotted a familiar fur in the tall grass. The lion thought it was a leopard that was regulary showing up on the king's land to flirt with his lionesses, so he attacked it without thinking. To his surprise, it turned out that he had not attacked an arrogant leopard, but a lioness. He quickly apologized, but he already managed to hurt the lioness. It wasn't anything big, just a little scratch, but Anza felt obliged to offer her a herbalist's help.
While Peach was taking care of Mirage Anza talked with her. The lioness told him that she's been looking for a pride for a while now, but no king let her join because she refuses to hunt. She just hates the feeling of taking away a life, no matter whose life it is... She knows that killing is the only way for a lion to survive, but she just can't eat something that she killed a minute ago!
Anza thought about it for a while until he came up with an idea. Until now, the cubs were cared for by older lionesses who could no longer hunt. However, the elders were not always able to keep up with the energetic little rascals... So, Anza asked Mirage if maybe she would like to join his pride as a caretaker for cubs. She absolutely loved this idea, and agreed immediately!

Mirage is deeply in love with her king, and is happy to take care of all the cubs he brings back from his expeditions.
