I knew when I first saw you, that you were perfect for me. When all the other baby hamsters were put on display, and you turned around and sauntered straight back to your bed.
You started crunching away on your snacks whenever I sat down to eat breakfast. You made countless holes in the blanket we had on the sofa, you little rascal. You slept through hours of my online uni lectures (I wish I could have been asleep too, Buddy.) You joined me for a snack, a snuggle and snooze every single day. It was the best part of my day.

The morning Tofu passed I scrolled through Lioden, looking for a distraction, and found this cub had been born. Though Tofu is gone, the memories and lessons (and holes in my blanket) remain, and this little cub celebrates that.

22nd April, 2023 - Suddenly this little cub is 12 years old, and months have gone by without my buddy. I still miss him. I have a new girlie now, shes full of energy and mischief and joy, but I still miss my buddy. It's my birthday, so I'm treating myself to a jellyfish and freezing you. You're staying with me always, lil man.
2nd August, 2023 - I'm sorry it took me so long, Buddy, but I finally made you your blankie. Safe and warm, little bud.

Buddy is secured, but that doesnt mean much for male lions. He still shows up as an option every time I list a trade. I fear one day I will misclick, and accidentally include him in a trade.
