As I travel through the lands I spot a cozy watering hole up ahead. I approach and notice a large male lion drinking water dipping his front paws into the water. I watch as the lion dips his snout into the water and out comes a fish in his maw. I call out "Hey stranger! Nice catch!" He turns and looks at me smiling. He approaches me and drops the fish in front of me. He says "Here you go miss! You look hungry." I thank the kind stranger and introduce myself, "Hi I'm Ginger! Thank you for the fish I really appreciate it." He says, "I'm Baklava. Would you like to join me at my den?" I agree and follow Baklava and he shows me his cozy den. I stay with him for some time and then it was time for me to go. I thank Baklava for his hospitality and head off to meet new lions.

I soon came upon a pride, following the death of its first king. Their new queen, an intimidating lioness named Leopardstar, kept her distance, though she provided food and shelter for me during my stay. Over the few nights I stayed, I was eventually able to talk to the young queen. By the sound of it, she was scared of taking on the roll her father had, having had passed up her two older brothers for the spot. By the lack of older males, I assume the two left to find their own prides. I comforted the lioness as best as I could, knowing I couldn't really help the other understand her position. Once she had calmed, she offered a gift, one her father had given out.

I wandered upon a pecuilar pride, a pride that took over an entire swamp! The lionesses welcomed me with open arms and it was barely a moment alone, I spent some time in the caves playing with cubs and avoiding mosquitos, I only saw the king twice. The first time was simply to welcome me, and when I was wandering about at night, he seemed to be playing with crocodiles. We talked and I did the same, amazed by the giant creatures gentleness.

When I was leaving, a little bird followed me and never left.

I spent a day traversing across a vast desert, following the directions from a kind hunter I had come across the day before. I found the pride that the hunter had spoken of, within a small cave in the middle of the blistering heat. A plethora of plants had been cultivated in and around the cave by the pride’s king, Nezah, making it into an oasis of sorts. I met with the pride, most of them very kind and welcoming, offering to have me feast with them and tell them stories from my travels. Things went smoothly… up until the third day, that is. One of Nezah’s submales, Aegon, was known for being… problematic to say the least. He generally kept to himself, being warned by Nezah that if he lashed out against his pride, that he would face dire consequences. But Nezah wasn’t around that day, and Aegon became confrontational with me, seemingly for my status as a traveller. He lashed out at me, leaving me with scar across my snout. Luckily, Quin, the second in command to Nezah, stepped in in time to stop Aegon from attacking me further. Quin apologized for the brute’s behavior, stating that Aegon had a tendency to be distrustful of outsiders. He had me patched up, before escorting me to the border, saying it was probably best that I hurry along to my next destination. It wasn’t safe for me to stick around much longer with that hateful Aegon character breathing down my neck…

The cold drives Ginger past a desolate frozen wasteland, and right to the doorstep of a new pride. They welcome her with open arms, offering her gifts to welcome her. She joins their celebrations, welcoming a new king to the throne. The new King, Melinoe, is kind to her. They drape her in flowers and give her a new piercing. Ginger decides to hit the road again, as the pride parties on.
