The warm embrace of stars. That was the first thing he remembered. Stars wrapping around him and carrying him away to warm furs and the soothing scent of a dew kissed night. A calming voice cooing at him in the shadows as his eyes slowly opened. The taste of milk and the deep rumbling purrs of larger kittens around him. ☾Mr. Midnight☽ saw the stars first. Or...a giant cat made of stars. He wasn't sure which, but he was barely the size of her paw. The large cat didn't mind. She just rumbled and cooed, grooming him as she slowly found his legs. He learned her name was Kaguya, He called her mother

☾Mr. Midnight☽ pounced and played with the cubs raised by his side, squealing with laughter as he attacked their tails. Learned to tumble around with them and match their strength with his speed. But one day, Mother lifted him up and carried him away. To a place with large wooden things and beings who walked on two legs. Mother told him he would be safe here. And as he looked on the strange two legged beings...Mother disappeared.

☾Mr. Midnight☽ turned and ran, eyes wide and frantic as he took off to the land of the stars, racing back to Mother's side. Again she took him to the two legged beings. Again he ran after her, scaling her side to hide in her fur, little claws clinging as he mewed, so soft and scared. Kaguya softened, curling up in her furs and guiding ☾Mr. Midnight☽ into her paws. He was not a lion like she, and he would be safer among the humans. But he clung to her as her own children did. And in that moment she vowed, in a voice soft and soothing, that he would remain with her. Her own son. And she would never send him away again.
