Melanie is a monster and she knows it very well. Everyone is afraid of her, due to the dark power surging through her veins. The first time she unleashed it was when she was still a cub, and due to her inability to control it, she almost burned the entire nursery to the ground. She's been taught by the adults around her since she was young that her gift was dangerous, told that she needed to control her emotions at all times, not to release them in passionate outbursts. And so, she did. She began suppressing her emotions and feelings until they weren't present in her mannerisms anymore. And it was fine, until her mother was exiled. At that vey moment, Melanie's emotions boiled over and her powers killed Annise, one of the Healers.

As a person, Melanie seems cold and distant to everyone around her, but she is only doing this for their own good. Inside, she is a loud, outspoken lioness, a little brash but otherwise very empathetic and incredibly lonely. After what she has done, she completely shut herself away from the rest of the pride.

You were enjoying a nice sunbeam when something began clawing your tail. Ah, it's Cub. Ouchie, please leave some fur on there, little one.

You wanted to say hi to Melanie but she keeps roaring at a noisy bird way up high in some branches. You sit down and wait it out.

You found yourself face-to-face with a very angry badger! Then, Melanie charged forth and let out her mightiest roar. The badger shrugged and went back into its burrow. Nice save!

You hear some caterwauling. You stumble upon Melanie singing at the top of her lungs while your other pride mates laughed. Did she chew on fermented fruit again?

You wanted to say hi to Melanie but she keeps roaring at a noisy bird way up high in some branches. You sit down and wait it out.

You pounce on Melanie in greeting, and her laughter echoed across the pride lands. You bet even the hyenas heard that... ah well.
