When you greet her, Topaz smacks you with her tail as she turns around to take care of her own damn business.
You come up to Topaz and hear her talking about escape plans to another pride mate. As you approach, she suddenly gets quiet and looks a bit guilty. Perhaps some extra patrolling is in order tonight.
You ask Topaz if she wants a tip on her hunting technique, and she tells you she'd rather learn from a log. Ugh, brat.
Topaz huffs a greeting when you approach, but as soon as you're too close she smacks your cheek. Ow!

Topaz is a lioness who was born from a loner mother, her sire being a pride lion. A month or two after Topaz and her brother were born, they came across a pride of lions who welcomed them with open arms. There weren't any lions her age there except for her brother, so it got pretty boring playing with the same cub all the time. The adults never really paid much attention to the two except for their mother, who did all of the cubsitting for the pride.
When Topaz was around six months old, she grew very suspicious of the high ranks in the pride, including the pride kings. Topaz was distrustful of all lions in the pride, except for Smokey and Lillemore, the nicest lionesses in the defunct pride. When her mother went missing one night, and no one gave her a straight answer. The king said she had gone hunting one night and hadn't returned. Wildfire and Bush Fires simply said she left to go join her sire's pride. Topaz knew they were lying to her and her brother. Unfortunately, she never found out what happened to her mother years later.
When Topaz and her brother were around one, the two of them along with their friend, Smokey, began plotting to leave the pride. Topaz had a feeling the king wouldn't just let her leave, and the other adults would try to convince her not to. It was now or never to escape. Unfortunately, Ajakk overheard her plans and he had her under his watchful eye for a few weeks.
When Topaz was approaching her second birthday, her brother had left without a word. Males at that age usually get kicked out of their pride to prevent inbreeding, but Topaz and Burrow shared no blood with any of their pridemates which Topaz found strange. Ajakk and the other king, Baheti, said that he did leave on his own terms, but Topaz wasn't buying it. Sniffing around some more, she discovered the scent of Burrow and drops of blood in the shrublands where the pride resided. It was just outside the territory border. Topaz didn't need to question further what had happened out here. Fearing for her life, she begged Smokey and Lillemore to leave the pride with her, as they all were still untainted by the pride's corrupt ways. Lillemore refused her offer but promised to keep quiet about their escape, so Smokey and Topaz left together at night. Smokey chickened out after reaching the territory border and wished Topaz farewell. Upset at this, Topaz simply snarled at Smokey for being so cowardly and she ran off down south.
A few weeks after Topaz left, she didn't make it far because of poachers. Ajakk found her hiding in some bushes from the hunters, covered in scars. He simply laughed at the young lioness before dragging her back to the pride. Upon returning, she was met with snide remarks by some of the pride, even Smokey wasn't all that happy to see her after the last moments they spent together before her escape. Now a total outcast in the pride, Topaz has to deal with the constant bullying and threats she faces from the other lionesses while fearing she may end up like Burrow and her mother if she messes up anything.
Oftentimes her kings and the higher ranks refuse to let her eat ever since her escape, but Lillemore always gives her food in secret. Though, it is usually small scraps and not enough to fill her stomach with. Because of this, Topaz became a scrawny lioness and is rather weak. Still, she is forced to hunt in the pride and her team is always successful in catching prey.
