Evening

Dust, along with her nursing cub, was purchased for a single silver beetle. This fact caused her great shame and misery, knowing that she was worth so little to her previous pride who eagerly sought to get rid of her. However, Thunder Mane welcomed her with open paws into his pride and bestowed upon her a new name: Evening. Day/night names were special in Thunder Mane's pride and signified his favor on the chosen lionesses. Therefore she held her head high and ignored the whispers of the other pride members, although she was still terribly grumpy about it.

Eventually she was sent to Harbringer's pride to retire and be with her daughter, Riot, and soak up the sun as the days passed by. The brown-furred cub, from the day she arrived in the pride, was a terrible burr in Thunder Mane's tail. She rebelled constantly and would hardly listen to anything her superiors had to say. This caused her to get knocked down with a reprimanding paw quite a few times, which of course, only made her angrier and more rebellious. Her antics both amused and exasperated Thunder Mane, who gave the nameless cub the name "Riot".

Evening and her daughter eventually parted ways as Riot longed for the endless plains ahead. Evening's grumpy exterior and Riot's rebellious nature had always clashed, but as Riot left, there was a smile on both their faces and the warmth of love in their hearts.
