◦ Backstory: Tuhka had always thought herself of good breeding… but her king had not favored her. She was chased off, barely able to grab ahold of her two newborns as she bolted out of the territory. Once far enough away, she laid down to nurse and comfort her frightened children, eyes wary as she made sure they hadn’t been followed.
As a shadow approached in the distance she’d jumped up, fearing that it was her former king, but instead she was met with the charming smile of a young male. Seeing her alone with two cubs, he was quick to offer her shelter. Tuhka had refused at first, saying that they were fine and simply traveling, but eventually after some questioning she accepted the offer.
She became the sire’s broodmother, watching over the new cubs Kofi stumbled upon as well as those born by the younger dams. She was more than content to do so, and help the young ones learn essential skills so that they would grow up to be strong hunters for the pride someday.
It was hard on her whenever Kofi finally decided that it was time for her to retire, but she did so with grace. She waited for the last of the cubs in her care to age up and become independent, then spent the last of her days on solo hunts simply enjoying the rest of her time with the pride and land she so loved.
