Early Rays

A beautiful and largely mysterious lioness, entirely by her own choice, Early Rays took on a name to match the other lionesses in the Sun Kingdom when she arrived, never sharing whatever name she may have borne prior to joining this pride.

Early Rays is a lioness who holds her head high, an air of dignity and grace about her with her every move, from her morning stretches to her quick footwork on hunts. While a diligent and hardworking member of the pride, her attitude can rub others the wrong way; she's beautiful and she knows it, and seems to think that failing to acknowledge and offer an assessment of others' looks is simply out of the question. She won't belabor a point, however, and is typically good about not offering unsolicited opinions about anything except for one's appearance.

Along with her seemingly vain qualities, however, is a solemnity and a sort of responsibility or guilt complex that leads her to take on extra or undesirable work around the pride constantly, and often leads her to be the first to apologize if a hunt or some other matter goes poorly.

She seems very interested in the restorative powers that Vast and his relationship to the Sun seem to have for the lands the pride lives on. She doesn't understand all of Vast's beliefs, but wants to with a quiet sort of desperation that is easy to miss at first glance. Subtle as it is, looking closely will reveal that she all but hangs off of Vast and Red Dawn's every word, and she has risked nearly overheating before in pursuit of laying out in the Sun's light.

She does not speak of where she came from, but came to the Sun Kingdom already pregnant and looking for a safe place to have her cubs. She seemed protective of her unborn cubs, wary at first of Vast's hospitality, but nonetheless silent on the matter of the sire as she has been on every other aspect of her past. She seemed especially tense through the birth, and nearly snapped at Red Dawn to drive her off when she finally beheld her single cub, but the warm reception of his birth has led her to gradually relax. It seems she's finally growing more comfortable in the pride overall.
