Lore:
Clouds hang overhead, promising a storm. The wind holds a chill unwarranted for the season. You would return to your den to seek shelter from the impending rain, but you are frozen in your place by the strange lion in front of you.
He is clad in a strange garb, wings tucked against his form. Though you cannot see his eyes, you know he is staring at you, into your very soul, even.
"W-who are you?" You call out, trying to ignore how your heart hammers in your chest, like a bird trying to escape a cage.
"I am death." Says the stranger, taking a step towards you. You want to run, but your blood has become ice in your veins, and your feet are rooted to the ground. "I am Gabriel Reyes, the Reaper, death in it's truest form."
"Have you come to reap me?" You ask, tongue dry as sandpaper in your mouth.
"No." It says simply, and you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. "I have come to walk this earth. All come to me in the end, I only wish to see what they will leave behind."

Lore: Jack and his husband travelled together and came across an older male lion and an adolescent male. The adolescent male was mixing herbs and potions and you can see a concerned look on the older male's face. Jack approached and said, "Hello! My name is Jack and that's my husband, The Reaper". The older male smiled and said, "My name is
Baklava and that's my son
Wylder. Jack smiles and looks over at Reaper. Jack says, "Can we stay here? We are tired from our journey." Baklava agrees and let's them inside of their den. Wylder sets up leaf beds for the two of them. In the middle of the night Reaper sneaks out and finds a small odd creature and brings it back to his husband. He leaves the creature laying next to his husband as he sleeps. The next morning Jack hugs him and thanks him for the new pet and vows to return the favor. A few hours later he brings him back a little bird. They both laugh and hug each other. They soon get a large meal from the host and after they eat they head off to their next adventure.

Lore: My husband and I decided to stay with different hosts this time around so that we can share stories with each other. So i wandered alone for a while untill I came across this enchantment marsh. The King is an interesting creature, he's some mix between a lion and a sheep. He's fairly large do to this, but he's a gentle giant. The herbivore half of him makes him no less of a leader.
King Funnel Cake showed me a cave he thought I would like to stay at, according to him, it's a cave for lions who won't be staying, wether physically or spiritually. He asked if I could provide some comfort to these lions as I know this kind of thing better than anyone else.
I was surprised to find that the lions around here were not afraid of me, not even those who were close to the end, some were even happy to see me and asked lots of questions. I hope other prides I meet will feel similarly.

Lore: as I wandered around in search of another pride that would be willing to let me travel with em for a few days a lion suddenly appeared behind me. Turning around I saw a lion that kinda looked like a cheese pizza. They were short and skinny and looked as if they were only an adolescent. Asking them if they needed help they laughed and told me that they were 🧀 cheese pizza 🧀, the leader of their pride. They were interested in the stories I had to share and invited me to spend the night in their pride. The lionesses told me about how goofy their pride leader was and how he had once watered fake human plants during a drought. That one night turned into three days as I began to befriend the lionesses and cubs. When the third night came the whole pride held a ceremony and took turns coming up to me and giving their goodbyes.

Lore: The Reaper walked through these lands, bringing with him a cold breeze, cold enough to make some conscious species think winter was somehow coming early. He saw a colorful lioness, leading a small patrol with two males in tow, somehow not noticing him yet. Once she did they were nearly nose to nose. She jumped back with an alarmed look, her ears flat to her head "Who a-are you-?" She stammered, her eyes fixated on my mask. "I am the Reaper. I mean you and your pride no harm, I only wish to see what this plane of existence has to offer." He replied, sitting down and folding in his wings to seem less threatening. These mortal lions had a tendency to get aggressive out of fear.
The colorful lioness seemed to relax after being told I wasn't here for any reaping. "Oh, so you're like a traveler...? I've never met a traveller from the other side.." She said, bowing her head briefly "I'm Otesha, the Queen of these lands you explore now. If you need to rest your paws, your more than welcome to come back with us to our den. I would love to hear the stories you must have to tell." The Reaper chuffed softly and gave a slight nod "I would love to. And in exchange i could hear some of the stories you and your pride mates have to share as well." Otesha smiled warily, nodding and urning to lead me back to where her pride resided.

Lore: Once my time in Otesha’s pride had come to an end, I decided to move onwards. It appeared the land I soon arrived at had been experiencing some rather serious earthquakes. It was then when I saw it, a vile serpent, with darkness pouring out from its scales. It shrieked upon noticing me, the thoughtless being seemingly didn’t fear death itself as it plunged into my grasp. I threw it out from my silver-adorned claws, letting it writhe on the ground for a moment.
“Wait!” There was a pleading which stopped me from drawing the serpent’s last breath. It was a young adolescent, a female, whose fur had been blessed with the jewelry of royalty. She approached the weakening snake and outstretched a paw, wielding the symbol of the Ankh. I could see the sense of individuality drain from the serpent as its essence was being collected, bound by the incense and the Ankh. The adolescent took one look at me before her eyes, pulsing from a blood-splatter red to a demonic void, circled by orange irises, widened in shock. “You must be
Jack Morrison’s husband! He’s here– right now, come on!” She took off, wrapping the drained serpent around her neck and shoulders almost like a decorative shawl. Jack? He’s here?
Eagerly, I followed. She came to an immediate halt once the two of us made it to him.”Reaper?” Jack smiled, and beneath his veil, I could almost tell his eyes were close to watering. We weren’t separated for long, and it wasn’t Hell without one another, but it felt so endearing to be beside my husband again. After we caught up, Jack told me about the adolescent. Her name was
Neith. Apparently, she was a deity bound within the form of a mortal lion. Or so, that’s what Neith was told by– Seth?
“That’s another thing,” Jack began with an exasperated smile, “It appears deities worshipped in Egypt have had their tombs revealed by the earthquakes. Seth is going to take Neith on the journey to find her temple, once she’s old enough.” Honestly, this was all new to me. I sat there for a while as Jack and Neith explained, with great enthusiasm, about what had gone on in these lands during my absence. “Essentially, Neith shall travel too?” I asked. To which Neith responded with a grin. “Of course! I’m gonna see the world. Or at least, as much as I can.” Neith then retrieved the serpent from around her neck, “It looks pretty cool, right? Seth just needed more essence to awaken Khnum, he’ll help us defeat the Serpent of Chaos.” Fortunately, Jack told me about the Serpent of Chaos, so I didn’t seem too dumbfounded when Neith began throwing her plans at me. “Since I have its essence, I’ve got no use for its body,” Neith placed it at my paws and continued, “if you look closely, it’s still alive. It just doesn’t feel the burning need to cause chaos as it’s no longer under the Serpent’s will. Basically, it’s a lil’ pet. Do you want it?” I hesitated and looked over at Jack who chuckled slightly. He had definitely made a few more interesting allies since I last saw him. The most bizarre being a leopard with an impossibly elongated neck. They seemed to pose no harm, though. And so I accepted Neith’s offer of the serpentine vessel. It followed me around which was unnerving at first, but it never made any attempts to strike.
Something else had happened since Jack and I last saw one another. He had two cubs. One was cloaked in the same, heavenly fur as Jack’s. She named herself
Nalani once she was old enough. It appeared Nalani had taken a liking to Neith, as Jack told me the two got along like a forest on fire. Eventually, Neith dragged Nalani and herself away to the temples to visit the deities there. I, at first, was cautious but Jack assured me the deities were all friendly. From what I heard about Seth, some also had egos larger than their shrines.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay. Apparently, these lands belonged to a lioness named
Mgando. I wouldn’t know as I spent most of my time at the outlands with Jack. He suggested next time we could travel together, I liked that idea. Jack also assured me that Nalani would be safe without us, especially if she had Neith by her side.

Lore:
The Reaper was walking through a lush rock outcrop when he heard sounds of talking. He crouched low, feathers and fur bristled before lying down when he sensed a similar aura coming from the direction.
He stood up and slowly made his way over, making his presence known to the two. He tilted his masked head to the side as he stared at the two harbingers.
'A Harbinger of Life and Death, it seems.'
He thought, as the two stood over a couple lion cubs and adolescents, the dark aura stepping forward with no fear in their empty gaze.
"Who are you? And Why are you in Opal Outcrop's territory?" They growled, head lowered in preparation to ram.
"There is no need to bare fangs, I am only passing through as I walk through this earth. I am death, harbinger." The Reaper explained calmly, tucking his wings closely to his body.
"You're not here to reap us, are you?" A voice peeped from behind the dark harbinger, a adolescent with a small mane and colorful pelt, with their eyes swimming in a mixture of fear and awe. They were quickly hushed by a tail flick by the other harbinger: a Harbinger of Life, perhaps, judging by the flora growing amidst their horns.
"No, I am only seeing what is left behind by those who come to me." The Reaper supplied.
The first harbinger scowled before lowering their stance and returning to the others. "Fine, we will bring you to our pride and see our queen. We do not turn away travelers when they arrive in our territories." They explained before turning to look him straight through his mask.
"But know this, the Outcrops are under the protection of the Harbingers Mortem and Viviere." they warned before leading the group back to the dens.

Lore: The Reaper would travel again for many days, before coming to yet another pride's land. He would take pause, as he traveled the beaten path of generations of lions, something stirring within him. It was there, he would meet
King Cerbahu, who would startle at the sight of the deathly lion. The Reaper would look at the old king, and the two would share a moment of silence.
"Do you know who I am?" Reaper asked solemnly.
"I might be able to guess." Old Cerbahu would rumble softly, the ridge of his brow furrowing in concern. "...Has my time come so soon?"
The Reaper dipped his head respectfully. "Not just yet." He murmured, "But I am certain you already know what will come. It will be soon enough, and on that day, I will return to you, as you return to the earth. Until then, do as you must to make peace with what will be."
The old king nodded his head in understanding, perhaps already finding some solace in knowing his reign would soon be ending. "I have lived a good life. I have done my best to give my pride, and my cubs good lives as well." He smiled, his pointed fangs baring no ill-will. "When you come again, I will be ready."

Lore: Reaper had been walking for quite some time before coming upon a new pride. There was plenty of cubs and a few other travelers as well. One with a similar scent. As he searched he was approached by one of the few primals in the lands introducing himself as King Cersei. Reaper bowed his head and explained how he was a traveler looking to see what lions left behind. Cersei was unafraid of him having known from the moment he had laid eyes on the newcomer. Offering him a place to stay within their pride.
During his stay he continued to catch the scent of someone or something familiar. He had cubs himself and wondered if one was here. Finally he spotted her. He watched her from afar noticing how a primal kitten followed her around. He kept his distance but watched over her silently. During his time here he grew fond of the king and using a surrogate they had cubs. When it was time for him to leave he bid his farewells gaining a new friend as well. A purple starling. With a full belly and his new friend he wandered off on his new adventure.
As The Reaper was leaving he met with Jack. He couldn't believe it, it had seemed like so long ago since last seeing his husband. They embraced and told stories. The Reaper stayed a couple of extra days to spend time with Jack before continuing on his journey.
