Amber hadn't wanted to stay when her mother left with Casey, but Kameko ~ her mother ~ Had been very insistent. In Kameko's words "I want you to stay with your Father and support Vernal when he becomes King. Vernal said if I'd stayed he would have made me Queen. Since I'm Casey's travel companion I can't stay, so you try your best to take my place. Be good Daughter. Live up to the name Albiny gives you and fight to become Vernals Queen." Then she had left. The day Vernal became King he came to Amber and asked her to be his Queen. She accepted right away, but she still had a few months before she could step in. Being a year and five months had advantages and Disadvantages... A few months later Amber was sitting by the cave, making sure all of the lionesses and cubs were all in when Majestic Rogue ~ Vernal ~ came back from fighting a giant snake. He smiled at Amber and rumbled, "The Snake is gone, we're free!" The whole Pride celebrated all of that night, but before Amber went to sleep Rogue muttered to her so no one else could hear, "He will be back. Maybe not in our time, but he'll be back." Amber shivered with fear, dreading having the future for the generations to come.
