She is swollen with furor of lovers and foes
So different- and yet much the same-
Driven by passion to acts of destruction
To cause such horror and pain

She hangs heavy and broken with ruin
Chokes on smog as red as rust
And watches the world below her
As it burns itself to dust

She weeps crimson in her mourning
At the altar, she is sorrow's wife
Bloody tears upon the machinations of war
And the atomic midnight

She can only watch and weep misery
As they tear each other to bones
Her cold pale shine's turned livid-gory
The light is not her own
