Cersei is the youngest lion to become a goddess of my pantheon. She earned her seat on New Olympus at only a year old. I bought Cersei in the month of July 2023 and immediately went to work on making a July-themed goddess for my pantheon. She was complete in less than 3 days.
Quick explanation,
Lions of Litochoro ascend to Mount Olympus once they have found their domain of rule and receive their power. That is the fancy lore for it. In real world terms, it means that their I have fully or almost fully completed their decor plan and they look all pretty and special with the decors. Usually I don’t write lore for lions of Mount Olympus until they go to the pride dynasty, simply because I don’t have the time. However! This was done in July (summer!) and I had plenty of free time on my hands. So, without further ado, I present to you…
Cersei
Goddess and keeper of the sacred connections between the earthly and the divine
Cersei resides over the spiritual and magical connections that intertwine the earthly (mortal world) with the divine (the gods and the cosmos).
Chrysaor found Cersei as a young adolescent wandering the valleys of his vast territory and immediately welcomed her into Litochoro, seeing great the potential in the young lioness. She carried a strong sense of self within her, one very rare to find in most souls. She was the kind of lion that already knew in her heart what most spent a lifetime finding; the answer to “Who am I? What is my purpose?”
During her time as a lone wanderer and in Litochoro, she spent her days admiring Earth’s simplicities, and her nights looking up at the stars, dreaming of the infinite wonders of the cosmos. She had such a strong passion and admiration for the world around her and beyond her. And, when she came to Litochoro and saw the possibility of godhood, a strong gut feeling told her that this is what she needed to do.
On the day she became a goddess, Cersei told the king,
“I am the bond between your world and mine. That is my domain.”
And so it was.
“Magic comes from the stars,” she always said. “And I will bring it down to Earth.”
Cersei is different from
Trajan (the god of the stars and celestial magic), though they share a close resemblance in their domain of rule. Cersei has always reminded Chrysaor of his late friend, Trajan, and he holds her to a special esteem, like she is his own daughter. He gave her the throne right next to his, on his right-hand side, where Trajan used to sit; an honorable throne that the other gods envy.
