Sunstruck Clouds

Outside the Sun Kingdom's lands and the immediate areas their land's windfall may help, there are still a great many places that do not benefit from the blessings of the Sun – or perhaps labor under too many blessings. Emerging quite possibly from the very same desert that the first Sun King, Vast of the Endless Sun, emerged from changed in form and mind, Sunstruck Clouds came to the pride dehydrated, weak, and barely alive. It's possible that she wasn't in the desert for as long, given that she doesn't seem quite as disconnected from the world around her or from her sense of self as King Vast was, but she seems to hear the Sun and see its will in things quite clearly. She was a natural addition to the pride.

Rather than Vast of the Endless Sun's propensity for calm and disconcerting swings between distractability and focus, Sunstruck is very aware of the world around her and very affected by it. Others' moods tend to influence her own, and she is very perceptive in sniffing out when someone is upset, or hiding something. She tends to present as very compassionate and willing to help others with their problems, but the solutions she offers don't always make sense to other lions. She at least doesn't seem too bothered if folks don't take her advice.

For all that she is a kind soul, and particularly loyal to both the pride and to her close lifelong friend, Daybreak Storm, she is also prone to mood changes of her own. She feels deeply and often; her anger burns hot and ferocious, her sadness looms deep and oppressive, her excitement bursts from her and moves her body almost involuntarily. She never restrains her feelings, even if the situation might not be appropriate for one reaction or another, and she generally seems confused – almost disappointed, almost resentful – if others tamp down on how they feel or want to act themselves.

Whatever magic is innate to her, it is a strange mixture of her time spent in the desert in the Sun's merciless embrace, and what appears to be the magic of the Butterfly Court, judging by how some of the insects almost always seem to be fluttering around her.
